Holding Space
Dear Members,
Minnesotans love to talk about weather and boy has this “winter” given us a lot to talk about. In one week we’ll experience two 50 degree swings. Our winter has been unusual and all over the place which has given us:
pause, “is this…okay?”
and joy, “The sun and warmth are giving me life.”
and even frustration, “I’ve barely been able to get out on the ice this year.”
I can’t help but notice how these mixed emotions about weather are just a small piece of all of the emotions we hold. As humans we experience love, hope, grief, joy, confusion, awe, excitement, frustration and everything in between, sometimes all in one day.
As coaches we invite our clients to pause and notice what emotions are present and what wisdom they may hold. I invite the same for all of us as we enter a new season with spring right around the corner.
What have the past two months brought for you?
What do you want to keep and what can you let go of?
What newness are you excited about?
On the board we’re holding space for grief and sadness with the loss of one of our members, gratitude for each other and our wonderful members, and excitement for what’s to come as we have finalized our priorities for the year.
Wherever you are in this season of change and whatever emotions you’re holding, we wish you peace and support, and would love to see you at an upcoming event where you’ll find a supportive community and ways to grow.
And please be careful on the ice ….
Cheers,
Holly O’Hanlon
