Exciting Year of Learning and Growth Ahead~
Skills, Connection, and Growth, oh my! We heard you loud and clear last year, and our Professional Development team has been hard at work creating exciting opportunities for our community to learn, grow, and connect with each other in 2025. We are thrilled about our line up of speakers and topics this year. Get excited for sessions on business development, coaching and AI, skill development, boundaries, DEI, MCC Demos around our competencies, and more! We’re also testing out some new formats this year in an effort to allow for more chances to connect with each other and get the most out of your membership.
If you are a current member, most of our events will be free to you! If you’re not yet a member, we invite you to join us and your membership fee will cover most event registrations.
Learn more about our events in our monthly catalyst, our LinkedIn page, or right on our website. We can’t wait for a year of learning, growth, and connection with you all! | | | Coaching by an MCC Demonstration
Facilitator: Joanne (Jo) Blackerby, MCC
Date: Monday, Feb 10, 2025
Time: 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM CST
Location: Zoom
CEU: 1.25 Core Competencies
Topic: The Myth of the Backstory
Description:
As coaches, we’re often told that curiosity is a vital tool in our practice. It’s what drives us to ask powerful questions, listen deeply, and explore possibilities with our clients. But there’s a trap hidden in curiosity that coaches must be aware of—especially when curiosity pulls us into places that derail the coaching process. One of the most common missteps? Asking for the backstory. |
On January 7th we welcomed Scott Nelson, a 20+ year coach, who spoke to us about generational coaching.
“Effective coaching transcends generational boundaries, turning potential conflict into opportunities for cooperation, collaboration, and connection. Skilled coaches adapt their approaches to engage and inspire individuals across all age groups, fostering meaningful intergenerational communication. Bridging generational gaps requires open dialogue and a deep understanding of the unique perspectives and evolving dynamics of each generation.”
Thank you for all the attendees that joined and contributed to the conversation.
Scott recommended two books to continue learning about the generational topic:
