Coaching Demo by a PCC
Facilitator: Karen Mathre, PCC
Date: Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM CST
Location: Zoom
CEU: Pending
Topic: Competency 7: Evokes Awareness
Description:
This session launches a new year-long coaching demonstration series designed to give participants a rare opportunity to observe the full arc of a real coaching engagement rather than a single stand-alone session. Across four sessions spread over the year, the same professional coach and the same volunteer client will work together on one meaningful topic, allowing attendees to witness continuity, relationship development, evolving agreements, and measurable progress over time.
Each session will spotlight specific ICF Core Competencies while still honoring the natural flow of the coaching conversation. The client will select a goal broad enough to explore over several months, yet focused enough to demonstrate tangible movement within four sessions.
Examples might include building a business, planning a milestone life event, or navigating a career transition.
Attending the whole arc is ideal but not required. Each session will offer richness and depth around each competency, worth observing.
Competency Focus by Session:
-
Session 1 – Competency 3: Establishes and Maintains Agreements
-
Session 2 – Competency 7: Evokes Awareness
-
Session 3 – Competency 8: Facilitates Client Growth
-
Session 4 – Competency 5: Maintains Presence
By attending multiple sessions throughout the year, participants will be able to observe how agreements evolve, how awareness deepens, how growth is supported, and how presence anchors the coaching relationship from beginning through completion. This format provides an uncommon, longitudinal view into professional coaching practice and the PCC markers in action.
Currently, we plan to record and post all sessions, so even if you miss one, you can see the entire arc. However, we reserve the right to change that in the future.
