Bev Lutz ICF membership provides incredible professional networking opportunities, professional and personal growth, and opportunities to explore my strengths as I volunteer in service of my profession.  My chapter really helps me stay current with coaching, thought leadership, and learn-n-earn (CEU’s) from professional development events.  But it’s the supportive coach-friends and collaborators who have made membership for me priceless. //s3.amazonaws.com/ClubExpressClubFiles/907122/graphics/BevLutz1_669008720.jpg

Irene Kelly

Being a member of ICF offers me the opportunity for certification by the industry professional standard bearer; being a member of ICF Minnesota connects me to my professional peers for networking and collaboration.  Membership in both establishes me as “credible” and provides me opportunities to learn and grow.

Presidents Letter

Heart in hand

What Does it Mean to Find Joy?

As I write my last president’s letter, I find myself reflecting over the last year and all the things that have happened. While many things have created challenges, I asked the question, “where was the joy”? I looked up the definition of joy and found:
Joy - The emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires, The expression or exhibition of such emotion, a state of happiness or felicity, a source or cause of delight.

What I realized is that it was the little things that percolated to the top of the list. The walks outside, date night with my husband at home, the phone calls or zoom with friends and family, going through old pictures with my mom, sitting outside with my granddaughters and daughters, reconnecting with cousins and I could go on. Finding creative ways to do things that made me smile helped me through the hard part. While there have been things that I have not been able to do, focusing on what I could shifted the situation to something more positive.

As you think about joy, I invite you to think about the following questions:

· What are things that bring you joy?

· What does it mean to find joy?

· Where can I find joy in the little things?

I have found joy in being part of the wonderful ICF Minnesota Coaching Community and serving on the ICF Minnesota board as your President this last year. It has been an honor and something I will always remember. The opportunity to work with so many strong and supportive board members has been a blessing. My hope is that I have made an impact in some small way to each of you in the coaching community. I am looking forward to continuing to serve next year as Past President and know that the ICF Minnesota chapter is in good hands as Cheryl Hegland steps into the President role.

I wish all of you a Happy Holiday Season with family and friends!

In gratitude,
Deb Johnson

TIME: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

LOCATION: Zoom

CEU’S: 2 Core Competency

We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are. We bring our experiences with us and they frame the context around how we see the world. This context allows us to hide our biases without even knowing we have them. We call this unconscious bias and this session will help explore what we should do with our unconscious bias and how to move towards cognitive control.

ICF MN Coaching Diversity Program and Grant- HOW CAN I HELP?

As you may already know, ICF MN has created a Coaching Diversity Program to develop 10 ICF credentialed coaches of color. This is the first program of its kind. We will be writing a grant to fund the majority of the program. Here is how you can help!

Donations: The cost of this program will be $85,000. It is more likely that we will receive a grant if we already have some financial support. ICF MN is giving a grant of $5,000, we are asking ICF Global to support us as well. We have currently received $35,000.00 in donations from around the U.S. Read more...

Build A Thriving Group Coaching Practice

Group coaching allows us to reach more people for three reasons: it offers reduced participation costs, it creates an instant community of support around a common experience, and it decreases the time investment on the part of the coach. Translating coaching skills to hold space for multiple people while navigating the many moving parts that need to be tended to in a group requires skill and practice. This series will prepare you to design, market, and deliver your group coaching offering. Our next cohort starts in January and offers CEs for both ICF and NBHWC.
