Dave is the founder of WondraGroup, an executive coaching firm that helps leaders find the one thing that improves their ability to get results for themselves and their organizations. His clients develop their skills through Practice for Performance, a proprietary approach to incorporating learning practices into regular work activities. Prior to founding WondraGroup, Dave performed operational, corporate, and senior executive human resource roles at organizations ranging from privately owned to publicly traded. Through this work, he enabled organizational innovation and growth.
Dave received his Professional Coaching Certification from the Hudson Institute of Coaching. While at the Hudson Institute, he studied with Frederic Hudson, one of the coaching profession founders. Dave earned a Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF). He is an active leader in the coaching community and currently serves as President of the ICF Foundation. Dave was Chairman of the ICF Global Board in 2015.
In 2014, Dave received the Gaston Award from the ICF Minnesota Chapter, in recognition of distinguished service to the chapter and the coaching profession. In 2013, Dave’s client Barr Engineering was recognized for coaching excellence by the ICF Minnesota Chapter, as the first recipient of the Prism Award. In 2011, Dave was one of the first recipients of the Hudson Institute of Coaching Make a Difference Award, in recognition for his contributions to the coaching profession.
Dave holds a Master of Arts in Industrial Relations degree from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Minnesota State University. Also, Dave was an Adjunct faculty member at the University of Saint Thomas where he taught graduate level leadership courses for several years.
Dave has authored articles on the subjects of leadership, purpose and renewal. His work has been published by McGraw Hill/Irwin, The University of Phoenix, Experience Life Magazine, and The Inventure Group. He is also actively involved in prairie restoration projects, and continues to be a lifelong student of the trumpet.
