Biography
My mission is to help women celebrate their unique identity, boldly use their voice, and proudly take up space. My business is called "tula soul." Tula means 'balance' is Sanskrit, 'wind' in Finnish, and 'poem' in Filipino. I like to think that coaching is a combination of balance, using universal energy (wind) and verbal and nonverbal creativity (poem). Mindfulness and self-compassion are two themes I focus on in coaching, since they are central to overall well-being and self-love.
I incorporate yoga, qi gong, somatics, and meditation into my coaching work with clients. Since incorporated these practices into my own life, I have become more grounded and centered, and have experienced a sense of well-being and equanimity. I believe that incorporating mind/body/spirit practices into healing is crucial for overall health. I'm also a former psychologist specializing in trauma, and I utilize my clinical knowledge to inform my coaching.
Our lives are a reflection of stored memories and subsequent, often suppressed emotions and behavioral patterns. I enjoy offering women the opportunity to explore their story (svadyaya or self study) to release emotions and behaviors that interfere with their ability to live with confidence and integrity. I consider it an honor to witness an individual grow through the process of coaching and work toward enlightenment.
I am a passionate social activist and volunteer with Humanize My Hoodie, an organization that uses education, fashion activism, outreach, workshops, etc. to teach anti-racism and social equality. My hobbies include reading, writing, traveling, yoga, learning new things, and spending time with family and friends.
